This 200 hour course is based on the ancient system of Hatha Yoga and Kriya Yoga, and includes philosophy and lifestyle, breath work, meditation, yoga postures, sequencing and anatomy. This course is designed to inform and inspire us to go deeper into our yoga journey to become confident yoga teachers and practitioners.
This course focuses on building a strong foundation in the practice of yoga, the whole of yoga, including breath work, meditation, posture, sequencing, anatomy, yoga philosophy and lifestyle. The course places a lot of attention on deepening our own personal practice while also gaining the confidence and expertise to teach others. We emphasize correct postures, sequencing, and anatomy, while also learning correct breathing techniques (pranayama) and the philosophy behind the practice. In this sense, your practice becomes an informed practice. This method builds a powerful foundation that ensures wherever your yoga path takes you, you will have built a solid foundation in yoga to excel in any chosen specialty.
The course comes in four parts: yoga philosophy, breath work, meditation, and yoga postures & sequencing.
The philosophy section of the course covers yoga history and theory according to ancient wisdom. We learn about why we do yoga, the foundation on which it stands, the path to self discovery, and explore the innate healing capabilities of the body and mind and how to access them.
The breath work, known as pranayama, covers basic, intermediate, as well as advanced breath work practices and sequencing, and how this practice relates to Chakras and energy pathways.
The meditation section covers the different styles of meditation, how to practice these styles, and how to teach them effectively.
The yoga postures (known as asana) section covers anatomy, kinesiology, alignment, sequencing, hands on adjustments, and more. We will cover effective cues and address common pitfalls in yoga.
Upon completion of this course, you will have developed a deeper understanding of yoga while also building a strong personal practice that will propel you to become a confident yoga teacher, teaching classes in Yoga, Breath Work, as well as Meditation.

What is Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is an ancient meditation practice commonly known as “yogic sleep”. It is a powerful practice that guides one into a deep state of relaxation and meditation. In this state, we receive both physical and mental relaxation, which paves the way for both mental and physical healing.
Course Content
In this course, we will learn the methods used to effectively guide others into deep states of meditation and relaxation. We will learn beginner, intermediate, as well as advanced practices in Yoga Nidra, and how to apply the principles and techniques effectively. Topics covered are Yoga Nidra history, techniques, key words and phrases, physiology including the effects of Yoga Nidra on the brain and body, ethics in teaching Yoga Nidra, self-healing practices in Yoga Nidra, and more.
This course teaches the classical Yoga Nidra that has been practiced for millennia. It is a comprehensive course that covers topics found in ancient texts as well as modern evidence based research. Learning how to effectively apply these principles to induce such a state is key in this course.
